The Arts Kidz pre-school curriculum is a combination of trusted curriculum content and solid approach strategies. It draws its roots and elements from a number of sources including:
- The Singapore Ministry of Education’s Nurturing Early Learners curriculum framework
- The Project Approach (projectapproach.org)
- Growing with Maths (K1-K2, in conjunction with MOE mathematics curriculum)
- Jolly Phonics
- The International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC)
Our curriculum is designed to provide children with a well-rounded education that covers not only essential academic areas such as literacy and numeracy but also values languages and the Arts in education. Our programmes are run by trained specialist teachers who work with the children each week in areas such as Visual Arts, Chinese Speech & Drama, Violin, Pianica, Yoga, Music & Movement and Emotional Intelligence.

The Arts (visual arts - making marks, painting, drawing; performing arts - music, movement, theatre, dance; and literary arts - stories, poetry and theatre) is often neglected in many schools in favour of heavy, academically-driven, rote-learning based programmes.
What these programs fail to recognize is that not only do the Arts provide an important creative outlet for children, it is also a springboard to intellectual discovery and to many academic learning opportunities. Our Integrated Curriculum will nurture children’s minds as they are actively engaging with ideas and concepts. Children will also develop a desire to learn, explore and think critically.
Used primarily at our Bukit Timah campus, the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is an internationally-minded, thematic, cross-curricular teaching structure used in over 85 countries around the world. It integrates learning under themes and is designed to meet the needs of children growing up within an international environment, with a focus on the following:

- An international, up to date and comprehensive curriculum programme
- Aimed at pre-school children growing up in the 21st Century
- It nurtures a love of learning and encourages the necessary key skills and personal qualities
The IPC programme takes into account current educational and learning theory research, including brain research, emotional resilience, Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences, and ideas about memory and learning styles.
Learning with the IPC also takes a global approach, helping children to connect their learning to where they are living now as well as looking at the learning from the perspective of people in other countries.
At our Tiong Bahru campus, the teachers choose an overall, broad-based topic each term for the school. This topic allows the Lead Teachers the flexibility to focus on an aspect of that topic of interest to the children. The teacher’s then facilitate the project, writing learning objectives into the context of the project content. Literacy, numeracy, scientific processing skills, geography, social and personal skills, can all be woven into the fabric of the project.
